Bay Area, California artist, TOPKAT, transcends the boundaries of hip-hop not only with his rhyme style, but also with exceptional substance in his music. He continues Vallejo, California’s rich tradition of innovation in the genre and, has the ability to present its many flavors, including dance, party, and conscious music. And not to disappoint the purists, TOPKAT paints a rare blend of life’s soulful struggles and triumphs with his lyrics,
challenges his audience with political undertones, and packages it all in a timeless hip-hop sound—destined to be a classic. In an era when some people believe the relevance of the genre has lost touch with the average person on the street, TOPKAT presents the kind of music that first turned people on to the beautiful culture of hip-hop.

I wrote the song "Black Ink" at the time of Mac Dre's passing, I was really trying to figure out who I was and how I was connected to a people with a strong history of oppression and struggle. The song "Now" was actually inspired by a speech I heard from Martin Luther King and a book I read called American Slave. 6fingers and I created these two unreleased songs 6 years ago and wanted to put them out because of how the message relates to the times of today. - Topkat
